Singapore, 14 June 2014 — On 12 June 2014, the ASEAN CSR Network (ACN) launched the “ASEAN CSR Vision 2020” initiative in Singapore. Ms. Michelle Staggs Kelsall, Deputy Director of the Human Rights Resource Centre, attended the noteworthy event and extended the Centre’s commendation for the important work ACN is doing to raise awareness on corporate responsibility in the region.

“ASEAN CSR Vision 2020” is a three-year program that will include CSR advocacy and awareness-raising, training and capacity-building, and enable collective action on key issues. According to ACN, the program builds on prior and current work supported by the ASEAN Foundation, through the ASEAN-Japan Solidarity Fund, and the United Kingdom Foreign & Commonwealth Office (UK FCO).

Following the launch of the “ASEAN CSR Vision 2020,” Michelle Staggs Kelsall also took part in a workshop held by the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) on the 13th and 14th during which the AICHR released the findings of their baseline study on CSR.
