Jakarta, 01 October 2015—The HRRC is pleased to announce that H.E. Rafendi Djamin has accepted the Governing Board’s invitation for him to join the Centre as a member of the Board of Managers within the Governing Board.
Mr. Djamin is the Representative of Indonesia to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Right (AICHR). He was first appointed in 2009, and is now serving his second term (2013-2015). He brings to the Centre over three decades of experience advocating for democracy, human rights and humanitarian issues. He has lobbied with inter-governmental bodies and the UN human rights mechanisms, and provides lectures at various universities and institutions of higher learning in Indonesia and abroad.
From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Djamin served as the Convener of the Solidarity for Asian People’s Advocacy Task Force on ASEAN and Human Rights. He is currently the Executive Director of the Human Rights Working Group (HRWG).
