Violence, Exploitation, and Abuse and Discrimination in Migration Affecting Women and Children in ASEAN: A Baseline Study

The HRRC’s second baseline study focuses on women and children rights and hopes to serve as a useful reference source of information. Through this baseline study, HRRC aims to support the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) and the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) in their works and initiatives, as well as the works of the NGO community in ASEAN.

This study is a big undertaking in terms of subject, and it is also the first study which compiles the situation and condition of women and children affected by violence, exploitation, and abuses & discrimination in migration in the 10 ASEAN member states. The rapporteurs scrutinised the secondary sources of published materials from government, NGOs, police, and other institutions and academically analysed them to bring forth this study.
