University of Cambodia Joins the HRRC Partnership Network

Jakarta, 15 October 2015—The HRRC welcomes the University of Cambodia to its network of partner academic institutions in the ASEAN region. Executed on 13 October 2015, the Memorandum of Understanding between HRRC and the University of Cambodia aims to enhance collaboration on educational activities, encourage cultural understanding, and further their mutual interest in promoting research, training and education on human rights issues.

Based in Phnom Penh, the University of Cambodia (UC) has since its founding become one of the leading and most reputable higher education institutions in Cambodia. With the motto “In Pursuit of Knowledge, Wisdom, and Building Tomorrow’s Leaders,” the University recognizes the need to train and nurture a new generation of highly capable young thinkers who will contribute to the intellectual, economic and social development of Cambodia, and who will lead with values, integrity and compassion.

The MOU was signed by Professor Harkristuti Harkrisnowo, Acting Executive of the HRRC and Ms. Por Malis, Vice President of Operations of the University of Cambodia. Both the HRRC and the University of Cambodia look forward to developing and implementing a common research agenda as well as consider capacity building programs in the next years.
